Flexibility is a missing link in the lives of so many people. It is easy to be so focused on completing the plan “as-is” that any little interruption causes you to go into a frenzy. In this article, we will discuss flexibility and why this is a needed element when bringing life to your vision.
Do you have an incredible vision and a plan to fully realize that vision? Well, if you are a person with the power of vision, I’m confident that you do.
As a visionary, I developed this extremely detailed plan that spanned over 10 years. Kind of ridiculous right? Well, I could tell you by simply filtering my spreadsheet what I would be doing in what month and year. The timeline was so tight that it presented a gap that I did not anticipate. It lacked flexibility to manage a change to the plan.
Although, I received my instructions from the Lord to develop the plan, I left little room for HIM to shift timing or use me as a vessel to meet a pressing need that required a speedy resolution. My lesson learned here is of course make your plans by the leading of the Holy Spirit but don’t dare tell the Holy Spirit ‘no’ when that plan unexpectedly changes.
God’s work is not based on a rigid, robotic program but rather a flexible system that uses wisdom to bring about HIS exploits. Make yourself not only available but flexible.
Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8 NIV)
