Why Now Is The Best Time To Stop Playing Small, Take Action, & Lead
By Eryka T. Johnson

Do you feel there is more you could be doing right now? Although you love your life and the value you bring to others, you could push a little harder and go just a bit deeper. You see yourself contributing more at work and home or just committing fully to that project that’s in your heart and keeps bothering you. Let’s face it…Opportunity to step up and lead is everywhere and it’s knocking at your door. So in today’s article, we will focus on why now is the best time to stop playing small, take action and lead.

Earlier this week, I was at my desk working while listening to an inspirational talk from my new mentor. I had just returned to work after being away for a few days on vacation with the kids. There was a large backlog of emails to answer and follow-ups to complete. As to not get overwhelmed, I took my time reading each email and deciding what priority to assign to each request.

Then, here comes an interruption!

Out of nowhere a strong feeling came over me and I clearly heard in my mind “the place you are in is too small for you.” Actually, this is what I would call God speaking to me. What a surprise, right? Well, not really. For the past few weeks, I’ve been re-positioning myself, my focus, my commitment, and my business.

Immediately, it made me think about when God took Abraham from underneath his tent (comfort zone) and asked him to look up and see the stars in the sky (opportunity). As long as he could SEE and count the stars, his impact and influence would be great. See Genesis chapter 15.

Now is the time to be stretched and break the glass ceiling of your life. You know you are playing small if this story hits a nerve or even ignites something in you. You will have all of heaven supporting your dreams and God walking alongside you to help you make the right decisions and build strong relationships.

You are ready even if you feel somewhat hesitant. Don’t you know that you’ve been designed for this very thing? Be bold. Move from what’s comfortable and familiar to you and try something new. Expand your capacity to accept more opportunities and have the courage to show up, take action, and see them through.

So, are you ready? Respond and let me know.

See you at the top!
