The Wait

By Antrea Wilson

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 KJV)

There are times in our life when God says, “Wait”.

Wait means to stay in a place of expectation. The period of waiting can be and is hard especially when we have been praying and seeking God. For me, I get frustrated and tired quickly. It’s like I’m anxious and ready to throw in the towel! In my spirit, God gives a timeframe but my flesh feels like it is too long. I want it and I want it now! Usually, I’m not ready which is often confirmed through my actions.

If we switch our gears and adjust our focus on learning more about him through prayer, reading His word, speaking things in existence, and praising Him in advance, we really don’t have time to let flesh overtake us. Get some scriptures and begin speaking out loud such as…

    • (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NIV) We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed
    • (Numbers 23:19 NIV) God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Go expecting God to fulfill every promise He has declared to you in your time of waiting. Be Blessed!
