What Drives You?
By Eryka T. Johnson
Are you driven by riches, fame, perception, envy, or any of the like? Or maybe you are driven by the sense of achievement, the prestige of great accomplishments, or the accolades of those around you? Whatever the driving force may be, if it does not produce life, it will ultimately end and leave you hopelessly stranded. In this article, we will discuss what drives you.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45 NIV)
Motivation rooted in encouraging others, meeting the needs of those around you, promoting unity, or simply being the hands and feet of your Creator are most rewarding. These motivations create hope in the lives of others which converts into more fuel to sustain you.
Adopt the right motivations and watch just how much your life will thank you for it!
I find that I’m often motivated by my kids and ensuring that they get a correct model of living. So that when they are old, they are committed to living right and treating others justly. No, I’m not talking about shielding them from the world, but my husband and I take every opportunity to teach lessons that they will be able to keep for a lifetime. In doing so, we are giving life to their dreams and helping to create the right mindset to live a life full of success. So, we are expecting incredible things from our children.
So, what drives you? Please share below.
