Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. (Proverbs 31:10)
The role of a Christian woman is seen throughout scripture which gives us a clear model of her being a support system for her family, her church, and her community. But, the fullness of the Christian Woman has yet to be realized. Here are three more functions of such a woman that was revealed to me.
She gives birth to the anointing.
In Luke 1: 31 – 38, Gabriel is visiting Mary and brings her good news that she will become pregnant by the Holy Spirit and deliver a child called the Anointed One, a holy thing. You too have conceived a holy thing which was placed within you by God himself at the beginning of time. This holy thing you are giving birth to is Purpose. It is time for you to identify with, understand, and deliver this holy thing in this season.
When you deliver Purpose, you will be in an anointed place because this is where God assigned you to be. No one else can deliver purpose for you or reign in your place. If you don’t know the Purpose you are carrying within you, today you need to ask the Creator. Just say, ‘Lord reveal to me my purpose. What have you created me to do and who have you created me to touch?’ You may find that those things that you are passionate about or burdened concerning will allude to your Purpose.
She nurtures the flock assigned to her.
You have given birth to the anointing (Purpose). But, there are people also that are attached to your Purpose – called your flock. You are to nurture your flock by connecting with and motivating them on a frequent basis. Let them know you care. Ensure that time is placed in your daily schedule to find out what is going on with them and provide assistance where needed. Proverbs 27:23 (NLT) tells us to know the state of our flock and put our heart into caring for our herds. It is time to get serious about living out your Purpose and touching the people you are suppose to assist. You will find as you work your Purpose, the anointing will only increase in your life. You will be more productive, you will help many people, and you will even draw people because of the anointed work you are doing.
Don’t allow those you are called to help die naturally or spiritually because you are not fulfilling purpose. Begin to seek these people out and extend your hand and heart to them. Allow the Holy Spirit to give you the message to communicate with them.
She mentors those women less experienced than her.
We all have things that we know a lot about – whether it is how to bake a cake, how to sew buttons on a shirt, how to teach your kids to read, how to build a tent, how to romance your spouse, how to choose the right dress for your body type, how to braid hair, how to study the scriptures, how to pray the promises of God, how to use a concordance, how to fast and pray, etc. You may feel that those things you know how to do well are simple and easy. But, believe it or not, there is another woman out there that it having difficulty with that same thing. You have an obligation to mentor or teach other women based on your experiences regardless of your age. In Titus 2:3-5, the Apostle Paul has much to say about women mentoring other women – both spiritually and practically.
You and your friends may want to set a special time to meet and compile one list of all the things you are good at which in essence becomes the monthly topics for each of you to share during your times together.
The fullness of the Christian woman is so much more than just serving as a support system. What are some other functions of the Christian Woman that you would like to share? We would love to hear your comments.
