Hi There, I’m Eryka!
And I’m passionate about building a community for female engineers who desire to remain in industry and yearn to show up differently - where she is respected and celebrated for her uniqueness
You are meant to be impactful, extraordinary, daring,
and lead within the engineering industry.
Having mentored over 19,000 women leaders across the world in London, Dubai, India, Canada, Silicon Valley, and the U.S, creating communities where women get the attention and support they require is important to me.
With only 30% of women who earn bachelor’s degrees in engineering still working in the field 20 years later, it’s disappointing that so many initiatives merely focus on…
1. Getting more girls into the STEM pipeline
OR
2. Sharing generic strategies for Women to excel in Engineering (which by the way, typically go against her natural design as a woman)
My mission is to put you in the driver’s seat of your successful engineering career so you are happier, produce something of significance, and fall in love with engineering again.
Female Engineers, You Do Matter
“That will never happen,” was the response the male Engineering Executive gave as I shared my long term career aspirations of being a Mechanical Engineer within the premier global engineering organization of ExxonMobil.
Considering I had only been with the company for three years now, his words shook my confidence and caused me to re-think if I’d made the right decision to pursue a technical career. Had I already proven that I did not have what it takes to succeed? What could I do to gain his approval and acceptance? All my questions were about me as an individual rather than the brokenness in the existing system.
Today, I understand the real challenge is not the lack of technical capability or the desire to gain approval from more senior technical leaders. Trying to thrive within a success framework that was not designed or adapted to accommodate feminine values and strategies is ultimately the issue.
Female Engineers, to win in engineering we must embody our womanhood and stand in our soft power
-
Build communities rather than silos
-
Replace competitiveness with collaboration
-
Bring more intuitiveness into your analytical solutions
-
Let your ideas generator and creativity run wild
Instead of running from the industry, I’ve decided to plant myself within it. And, my mission globally is to help other female engineers do the same. I would love to have you join me in this work.
